Bulusan Lake

Bulusan Volcano is situated in the southern most part of Luzon. It is one of the most active volcanoes in the Philippines. It's last eruption happened in February 2011. Because of the eruption the Black Bird lake was covered by ash and leaving the lake dry until now.

Climbing Bulusan takes a lot of time travel. It takes 10-14 hours from Manila to Irosin Sorsogon, then a 45 minute tricycle ride going to Bulusan Volcano National park. Seven people agreed to these adventure, we left Cubao Bus terminal via Elavil bus around 8:30 pm and arrive at Irosin, Sorsogon around 10:00 am. We headed straight to Irosin market to buy supplies and eat our early lunch.

Attention: This post is fully loaded with photos.
I found myself sitting in front of phenomenal sea of clouds formation that looks like an oceans pouring atop of the mountain ranges, it’s where the skies and grounds met. Les Miserables said, I dreamed a dream in time gone by; When hope was high; And life worth living – It’s truly life worth living when the journey is on top of your dreams, I found then freedom. It’s liberty living in front of Mt. Pulag’s unparalleled paradise.

OPENING SALVO
The kick-off of 2013 for TOSOC MOUNTAINEERS opens a Pulag Dream. This is a good start for us guys where we simply conquered one of the highest peaks. And now we are seeking for more mountain tops this year. Kudos for a good start.

Mt. Pundaquit | Traverse Anawangin Cove

July 20 -21, 2013

The province of Zambales has 173 kilometers of beaches, dive spots and surfing areas. This includes the famous beauty of Anawangin Cove. My first visit here was June of last year. The previously secluded beach of Anawangin is now a popular tourist destination.

Getting there you can take any Bus from Manila to Iba or Sta. Cruz, Zambales. Then get off at the town of San Antonio. From there you may buy your supplies first before chartering a tricycle to take you to the jump off point. There is two routes going to Anawangin Cove, the usual way is a 30 minute pumpboat ride from Pundaquit. And there is a land route, a 3-4 hours hike passing Mt. Pundaquit.

Mt. Mariveles (Tarak Ridge) Experience

"The biggest reward for a thing well done is to have done it"

Tarak Ridge

Mariveles, Bataan

The best experience ever and I never thought it would more difficult as expected. Indeed the reward really worth and the happiness that you can’t buy. Second ascent since I started loving mountaineering. I understand that the difficulty is much higher that my first ascent.

The group decided to meet up at Genesis Bus Lines around 4’oclock-morning going Bataan. I only knew Mike and Palmes but I know it wouldn’t be hard for us to gain relationship with the group – define bromance. So I brought my partner. It was four hour ride from Cubao to Bataan which gives us time to relax and take rest perhaps.
